It’s obvious to any sports fan that baseball has fallen from its throne atop the major sports franchises in America. The recent years of scandal and investigation have come when the country it used to represent has struggled to set the bar for the rest of the world. The Rawlings MLB campaign reminds Major League Baseball, from players and coaches to owners, front office executives, and even fans, that hope is not lost.
The full page ads would run in the middle of the USA Today Sports section directly next to the baseball box scores during the summer baseball season.
At the same time, the ads would be blown up into large posters and placed within walking distance of major league stadiums for fans to read as they approach the ballpark.
The second phase of the campaign gives fans the opportunity to talk directly to Major League Baseball and share their perceptions of the league. Using pre-addressed and stamped postcards, fans are given a voice in the conversation of baseball’s future. Digital postcards can also be downloaded online and e-mailed directly to mlb.com.
